The Mont Blanc Unlimited Pass

The Mont Blanc Unlimited passes are available from now until the end of the winter.

If you are skiing between the following dates, you can buy an Early Bird pass now. Please check on the Early Bird page for offers:

Saturday 2nd January to Friday 2nd February 2024 and Saturday 16th March to Sunday 5th May 2024

If you are skiing at any other time, please look at the Mont Blanc Unlimited or Chamonix Le Pass options and if your dates fall over some of the periods above you can buy a pass for each period i.e., a few days of Early Bird and a few days normal passes. You will have two badges, one for each period but you will save some money on the early bird period.

Please have a look at the Mont Blanc Unlimited and Chamonix Le Pass options for passes outside these dates.

We will send you your pass by email with a QR code (one for as many passes as you order). You scan the QR at any of the machines “Pick up boxes”, in  the valley or at any of the lifts. No queueing is needed and the passes are printed on the spot

The lift company will not refund these passes, nor can we unfortunately unless you have the E-gloo insurance.

  • Each pass must be purchased with a “Smart Card” or badge as it is called @ €3.00 per pass
  • Prices, terms and conditions are subject to the lift company

FAMILY PASSES include 2 adults and 2 children (below 14 years of age) plus up to 4 additional children free except for the cost of the badge @€3.00 each plus E-gloo insurance if needed @ €3.50 per pass per day.

We recommend you arrange travel insurance cover for your travel, accommodation, and activities for your holiday.

Once you have decided which pass is suitable for you and your ski or snowboard group, there are few more details to think about. If you are reading this before November 30th 2023 and your ski dates are in the “Early Bird windows” which are, Saturday 6th January thru’ Friday 2nd February 2024 and Saturday 16th March thru’ Sunday 5th May 2024, you can buy the discounted early bird passes. These are around 20-30% discounted from the normal prices.

If your dates are not right or the early bird period is over, you will need to decide for you and each member of your party whether to buy CLP or MBU passes. Feel free to call us to talk it through, however the usual considerations are:

Where your accommodation is

Is there access to public transport or do you have a car available

How good each member of your group is on the mountain and hence where you are likely to be skiing. The basic rule in Chamonix is good and confident off-piste skiers tend to choose the MBU unless staying in Les Houches. If you are in Les Houches, you can buy the Les Houches pass at the lift station, but this does not have access to other ski areas. The MBU is the “all mountain pass” and has the benefits of access to other ski areas as well.

Next you should decide whether to add on “assurance”. We are authorised resellers of the E-gloo rescue insurance, see more details here [link to insurance]. Remember this is a limited rescue type insurance rather than comprehensive travel policy. Please check the cover details, however, in general, the policy is pointed at rescuing and dealing with immediate medical emergency costs (in some cases repatriation). The policy costs €3.50 per person per day regardless of age. We recommend it, as rescue costs in the event of an accident are expensive in France.

Every pass needs a smart card (badge) which is a credit card size and activates the turnstiles of each ski lift during the pass validity. If you your ski period crosses over two windows, and you want to buy a Chamonix Le Pass for some dates and a Mont Blanc Unlimited pass for the remainder, you will need to buy two smart cards, one for each period. They are non-refundable but feel free to return them to the nearest ticket office (at the bottom of each slope). They are reusable.
